Sitting down to write a Vivid Vision can be tough, especially if you’re not a natural writer. Even if you are, the vision in your head might not come out how you imagined.

That’s why it’s helpful to have a structure.

Vision Driven has taken several hundred clients through our Vivid Vision process, and we developed what we call The Vivid Vision Mindmap™: a template and guide that will help you begin to write your Vivid Vision.

We’ll walk you through how it works below, but you can download it here if you’re ready to write your Vivid Vision:

If you find yourself stuck, you can use these question prompts to help:

  • What are your customers saying about your company?
  • What are employees saying?
  • What is the media writing about you?
  • What do Operations look & feel like?
  • How about Marketing?
  • Sales?

Example: Team
Here’s an example of what the Team section might look like on your Mindmap:

And here’s how that would translate into your Vivid Vision once you begin writing:

We’ve assembled a team of A-players who don’t just come to work energized, but are inspired by the mission we’re on to help our clients achieve their goals. Each one of us is clear of our responsibilities and takes full ownership of the role we play in the company’s growth. Everyone is clear on the vision we have for change in our industry, and we fully embody our core values, always pausing to make sure any decision we make is in alignment. Communication between team members is open, honest, and respectful; when difficult situations arise, we address them without ego, while honoring each person’s point of view. Because of this, we’ve built a culture of cross functional participation, where every team member in any department is willing to jump in and help another in order to turn our vision into a reality.

The Vivid Vision Template™

If you apply the above example to every part of your business, you’ll slowly start to see your Vivid Vision come to life.

One incredibly important part of your Vivid Vision will be the Snapshot: a short summary of what your business has accomplished three years from now. Here’s a template you can use for your Vivid Vision Snapshot:

SNAPSHOT TEMPLATE

It’s December 31st, [20XX], and [Name Of Company] has [change you’ve made in the industry]. We’ve [what you’ve accomplished], and [more accomplishments]. Through [process], [ideal clients] are now able to [vision you have for who you help].

Here’s an example of  completed Snapshot:

It’s December 31st, 2024, and Greenspan Capital has sent shockwaves through the multifamily real estate industry, and redefined what it means to be an investor. We’ve built a tribe of passionate investors who are driven by a higher calling, focusing on turning a profit while making an impact in the lives of the communities they touch. Through our online platform, those who want to become equity partners in large, conscious real estate endeavors can access tax advantages and investment pools that have largely been kept secret, and can do so with full confidence knowing that they’re not simply investing in the 2,500+ units under our management, they’re investing in the families inside.

The Full Vivid Vision Process

When it comes to designing your business’ vision, it’s incredibly valuable to have an expert walk you through the process. That’s why at Vision Driven, we’ve developed our proven, signature Vivid Vision Method™:

STEP 1: THE VIVID VISION MINDMAP™

From your company’s core values and culture to marketing and financials, we’ll guide you through the 12 key areas of your company by mapping out what you want it to look like.

STEP 2: EXPAND YOUR VISION

Our Vivid Visioneers will interview you (the Founder or CEO) on your three year vision. We’ll dig deep to help you get crystal clear about what you want each area of your company to look, feel, and sound like—but as if you’ve already achieved it. We’ll help you sort your thoughts so you can simply show up and share.

STEP 3: COPY CREATION

Our team of seasoned Vivid Vision copywriters will help craft your vision and make the words pop off the page. We make the vision clear, powerful, and exciting, so your team, clients, partners, etc., get inspired to help you make it happen.

STEP 4: YOUR VIVID VISION IMAGERY

After the copy is complete, our Vivid Vision Design Team will breathe life into your vision with a beautiful, on-brand design, putting powerful images to the words for your personalized Vivid Vision.

STEP 5: YOUR VIVID VISION ROLLOUT

The final product is a custom, 5-6 page Vivid Vision document. It will get your emotions racing with excitement when you, your team, your customers, and your vendors read it. We’ll also share best practices on rolling out your Vivid Vision in your organization, infusing it into your culture, and where to start on executing it.

The Vivid Vision is the most important document your company might be missing, and just imagine your future if:

  • You double, triple, or even 10x your revenue…
  • Systems and processes are so tight that when you leave on family vacation you know you don’t have to check your phone because everything is running smoothly…
  • Your company is listed as a Top Place To Work and written up in the Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Inc. Magazine, etc…
  • You have a self-managing team with top talent that takes just as much responsibility in growing your company as you do…
  • Investors are so bought into your vision that they’re happy to hand over the funding you need to scale faster…
  • You create a powerful legacy that will live on and impact team members, clients, and the community for years to come…
